Edouard has participated in numerous wars and revolutions throughout his long tenure as a member of the undead, and believes heavily in the rights and freedoms of all working peoples due to his revolutionary history. As a devout communist, Leroux was active in the Fronde rebellion, American War for Independence, as well as being a leading figure of the French Revolution. Edouard also had a hand in the establishment of the Paris Commune in 1870, yet when the Commune was destroyed and the Third Republic restored, Leroux found himself a stranger in his own country. Leroux continued to live in France until the Invasion of France during World War II. Edouard had to flee France after the Invasion due to his activity in the French Resistance being taken note of by Hunters working for the SS’s secret Vampire Hunting division. With only a copy of the Communist Manifesto and a signed copy of Leon Trotsky’s “The History of the Russian Revolution”, Leroux made his way to the City.
